A catch-all mailbox is one that captures all the messages sent to invalid addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss messages because the other side has an obsolete email address or has made a spelling mistake. The disadvantage of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of spam emails, but this issue can be fixed using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also essential to bear in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot forward inbound emails to a 3rd-party address.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting
If you host a domain name on our cloud web hosting platform and you have a shared website hosting account, you’ll be able to enable the catch-all functionality for any e-mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel comes with quite a few features, but it is unbelievably easy to use, so creating a catch-all mailbox takes just a single click. All the email addresses that you have set up will be displayed in this section alphabetically and you will just need to click the "Catch-all" button for the respective address. Our system will alert you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you’d like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or pick another mailbox. Disabling the catch-all option is just as easy and requires yet another click on the same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The custom-created Hepsia Control Panel that comes with each semi-dedicated server plan that we offer will allow you to set up a catch-all email mailbox with ease even if you do not have much email/web hosting experience. All it takes to do that is to click the catch-all icon, which will be on the right side of each email address that you have created with your domains in the Email Manager section of the hosting Control Panel. Since you can have just one mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will let you know if you’ve already created a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you would like to use has email forwarding enabled. In case you decide that you don’t want the feature any longer, you can turn it off by clicking once again on the very same icon. The Email Manager section will also permit you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
